Plantfolk Terms of Use

Welcome to Plantfolk.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Plantfolk mobile application, website, artificial intelligence features, educational content, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). Plantfolk is a product and brand owned and operated by Prabentures Inc., an Ontario corporation ("Plantfolk", "we", "our", or "us"). By accessing or using Plantfolk, whether as a registered or guest user, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

Plantfolk is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older.

By using Plantfolk, you confirm that:

You are at least 13 years old;

You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement;

The information you provide is accurate; and

You will comply with all applicable laws.

2. About Plantfolk

Plantfolk is an educational and lifestyle platform designed to support individuals who are exploring, transitioning to, or maintaining a plant-based lifestyle.

Our mission is to help people discover, sustain, and enjoy their plant-based journey through educational information, practical guidance, humour, conversation starters, thoughtful responses to common questions, inspirational content, informational cards, and other AI-assisted resources. Plantfolk is intended to educate, inspire, and support. It is not intended to replace professional medical, nutritional, legal, financial, or mental health advice.

3. Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence

Plantfolk is committed to the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence. Our AI features are designed to educate, inform, inspire, and support users throughout their plant-based journey. To ensure a high-quality experience for all users, Plantfolk may establish reasonable usage limits, including limits on the number of AI questions, conversations, or interactions available within free and paid plans. A paid subscription provides access to premium features but does not provide unlimited or unrestricted AI usage. Artificial intelligence may occasionally generate inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or inappropriate information. You are solely responsible for evaluating any information before relying on it. Plantfolk may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue AI features from time to time.

5. Personalization and Journey Stages

Plantfolk allows users to optionally indicate their current stage in their plant-based journey to help personalize their experience.

We may use terminology such as:

Novice (for those new to plant-based living),

Exploring (for those actively exploring and building habits), and

Practicing (for those experienced and confident in their plant-based lifestyle).

These labels are intended to be inclusive, flexible, and non-judgmental representations of where you feel you are in your journey.

You may update or change your selected stage at any time within the app.

This information may be used to tailor responses from our AI assistant, "The Sage." For example:

Users in earlier stages may receive more context, explanations, and guidance;

Users in later stages may receive more concise, direct responses.

This personalization is designed to improve relevance and usability, but it does not guarantee accuracy or completeness of responses.

5. Medical Disclaimer

Plantfolk is an educational and lifestyle platform only. The Services do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, nutritional counselling, psychotherapy, legal advice, financial advice, or any other regulated professional service. Always seek advice from a qualified professional before making significant dietary, nutritional, or health-related decisions.

6. Accounts

You may access Plantfolk using:

Apple Sign-In;

Google Sign-In; or

Guest Mode.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity conducted through it.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Plantfolk respectfully and responsibly.

You must not:

submit or request obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, or adult content;

use abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, or harassing language;

bully or harass any individual or group;

attempt to bypass Plantfolk's AI safeguards or usage limits;

interfere with the security or operation of the Services;

upload malicious software or harmful code;

impersonate another person;

violate the rights of others;

use Plantfolk to develop, train, or improve competing AI systems without our written permission.

Plantfolk may use automated systems and human review to detect misuse. Where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, we may issue warnings, suspend or permanently terminate accounts, restrict access to AI features, or report unlawful activity to the appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent account termination without refund where permitted by applicable law.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of content you voluntarily submit.

By submitting content, you grant Plantfolk a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, process, display, and use that content solely to operate, secure, improve, and maintain the Services.

9. Intellectual Property

All Plantfolk content, including software, text, graphics, branding, logos, good to know content, humour, comeback cards, AI prompts, conversation design, and trademarks, as well as "The Sage" AI personality are owned by or licensed to Plantfolk and protected by intellectual property laws. Except as expressly permitted by these Terms, you may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, sell, or commercially exploit any portion of the Services without our prior written permission.

10. Sharing Plantfolk Content

Plantfolk may allow users to share selected informational cards, Good to knows, humour, comebacks and educational content through official sharing features. You may not remove Plantfolk branding or represent Plantfolk content as your own. Sharing screenshots of AI conversations is your own decision and responsibility.

11. Community Partners and External Resources

Plantfolk may provide links to third-party organizations, charities, advocacy groups, businesses, restaurants, websites, events, educational resources, or other community partners. These organizations operate independently of Plantfolk. The inclusion of any community partner or external resource does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, certification, or representation by Plantfolk. Plantfolk does not control and is not responsible for the content, products, services, privacy practices, availability, accuracy, or actions of any third-party organizations or websites. Any decision to visit, contact, purchase from, donate to, become a member of, attend an event hosted by, or otherwise engage with a community partner is made entirely at your own risk. Plantfolk is not responsible for any transactions, purchases, donations, memberships, subscriptions, bookings, communications, disputes, losses, damages, or other interactions between you and any third party.

12. Subscriptions, Billing, Cancellation and Refunds

Certain Plantfolk features are available through a paid annual subscription. Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Plantfolk does not process your payment information.

Annual Subscription

Paid subscriptions are billed annually.

Pricing may vary by country, currency, or applicable taxes.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Deleting or uninstalling the Plantfolk application does not cancel your subscription. Unless cancelled before renewal, subscriptions may automatically renew in accordance with the policies of the applicable app store.

Refunds

Refund eligibility is determined solely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store under their respective policies and applicable law. Except where required by law or the applicable app store's policies, subscription fees are non-refundable, including any unused portion of a subscription.

13. Third-Party Services

Plantfolk may use third-party providers for authentication, artificial intelligence, cloud hosting, analytics, infrastructure, and notifications. We are not responsible for the availability or performance of third-party services.

14. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plantfolk disclaims all warranties, express or implied.

15. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plantfolk, Prabentures Inc., and their directors, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, affiliates, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that applicable law prohibits excluding.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Plantfolk, Prabentures Inc., and their directors, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms, misuse of the Services, violation of law, or infringement of another person's rights.

17. Termination

Plantfolk may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time where you violate these Terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the Services, our users, or our business.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms become effective when published. Continued use of Plantfolk after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
