Plantfolk is a product and brand owned and operated by Prabentures Inc., an Ontario corporation ("Plantfolk", "we", "our", or "us").
By accessing or using Plantfolk, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Philosophy
At Plantfolk, we believe that good technology should collect only the information necessary to provide a great experience. We intentionally minimise the amount of personal information we collect and store.
We do not sell your personal information. We are committed to the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence while respecting your privacy.
Our goal is simple: provide a helpful experience while leaving the smallest possible data footprint.
1. Information We Collect
Plantfolk is designed to collect only the information reasonably necessary to provide and operate the Services.
Account Information
If you choose to sign in using Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In, we may collect:
- Your name (where provided by Apple or Google)
- Your email address
- Your authentication identifier
- Basic profile information made available through your sign-in provider
We do not collect or store your Apple password or Google password.
Guest Users
You may use certain Plantfolk features without creating an account. Guest users are not required to provide personal information to access eligible features.
Saved Preferences
If you are signed into Plantfolk, we may store limited account preferences, including:
- Your favourited Plantfolk cards
- Limited application preferences necessary to provide the Services
Apart from your account information and saved preferences, Plantfolk is designed to minimise the personal information it stores.
2. Artificial Intelligence
Plantfolk uses one or more trusted third-party artificial intelligence providers to power its AI features.
When you ask a question using Plantfolk's AI assistant ("Sage"), your question is securely transmitted to one of our trusted AI providers solely for the purpose of generating a response.
Plantfolk combines these AI technologies with its own proprietary prompts, instructions, moderation rules, safety mechanisms, and plant-based guidance to generate responses that are aligned with Plantfolk's educational mission of helping people discover, sustain, and enjoy a plant-based lifestyle.
As a result, responses generated within Plantfolk may differ from responses generated directly by the underlying AI providers.
Plantfolk may change AI providers, models, technologies, or supporting infrastructure from time to time to improve the quality, reliability, security, or availability of the Services.
AI Conversations
Plantfolk does not permanently store your AI conversations as part of your user account unless explicitly stated within the Services. Your questions are processed only for the purpose of generating the response you request. Plantfolk does not use your AI conversations to train its own artificial intelligence models. Please avoid submitting sensitive personal, financial, legal, medical, or confidential information while using AI features.
Although we take reasonable measures to protect your privacy, information submitted to AI features is processed by trusted third-party AI providers solely for generating the requested response. We may engage additional or replacement service providers from time to time to help deliver the Services. This Privacy Policy applies regardless of the specific provider used.
Plantfolk's AI conversations are intended for your personal use.
If you choose to copy, screenshot, screen record, download, print, share, publish, forward, or otherwise disclose any AI conversation or response generated through the Services, you do so entirely at your own discretion and risk. Once you voluntarily share AI-generated content outside of Plantfolk, including through messaging applications, email, websites, blogs, forums, or social media platforms, Plantfolk has no control over how that content is used, copied, distributed, stored, or further shared by others.
Plantfolk is not responsible for protecting the privacy, confidentiality, or security of any AI conversation or response that you voluntarily disclose or share with third parties. You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you choose to share does not infringe the rights or privacy of others and complies with applicable laws and the terms of the platform on which it is shared.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only as reasonably necessary to:
- Authenticate your account
- Operate and maintain Plantfolk
- Save your favourited Plantfolk cards
- Process AI requests and generate responses
- Personalise limited aspects of your experience
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Services
- Detect abuse, fraud, or misuse of the Services
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
- Communicate important updates relating to the Services
4. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Plantfolk is not designed to collect sensitive personal information.
We do not intentionally request or require:
- Medical diagnoses
- Medical records
- Medications
- Allergies
- Laboratory results
- Body weight
- Fitness tracking information
- Government-issued identification numbers
- Payment card information
- Banking information
If you voluntarily provide sensitive information while interacting with AI features, that information will be processed only for the purpose of generating the response you requested.
5. Subscription Payments
Plantfolk does not collect, process, receive, or store your payment card information. All subscriptions and purchases are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and payment processing are administered entirely by the applicable app store in accordance with its policies.
6. Sharing Your Information
Plantfolk does not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only with trusted third-party service providers that assist us in operating the Services, including providers of:
- User authentication
- Artificial intelligence services
- Cloud infrastructure
- Security services
- Crash reporting
- Technical support
These providers may process information only as reasonably necessary to provide services on our behalf and in accordance with their contractual obligations. Plantfolk does not authorize these providers to use your personal information for their own marketing purposes.

Plantfolk is committed to protecting your personal information. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or destruction. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmitting information over the Internet or storing electronic information is completely secure. Accordingly, Plantfolk cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for protecting access to your devices.

Plantfolk believes in retaining as little personal information as reasonably necessary.
We retain your account information and saved preferences only for as long as necessary to:
- Provide the Services;
- Maintain your account;
- Comply with legal obligations;
- Resolve disputes;
- Protect the integrity and security of the Services; and
- Enforce our legal agreements.
Where reasonably practicable, information that is no longer required will be securely deleted or anonymized.
9. Community Partners and External Links
Plantfolk may introduce or provide links to third-party organizations, advocacy groups, charities, community partners, restaurants, businesses, educational resources, websites, events, social media pages, or other external resources that may be helpful to users. These organizations operate independently of Plantfolk. The inclusion of any Community Partner or external resource within Plantfolk does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, certification, warranty, or representation regarding that organization, its products, services, content, opinions, or business practices. If you choose to visit, communicate with, purchase from, donate to, become a member of, attend events hosted by, or otherwise interact with any third-party organization, you do so entirely at your own discretion and risk. Plantfolk is not responsible for the privacy practices, content, products, services, availability, security, or actions of any third-party organization or website. 10. International Users
Plantfolk is operated from Ontario, Canada, and welcomes users from around the world. If you choose to access or use Plantfolk from outside Canada, you acknowledge that your information may be processed, stored, or transferred in Canada or in other countries where our trusted service providers operate. By using the Services, you consent to the processing, storage, and transfer of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. Where required by applicable law, Plantfolk will respect privacy rights available to users in their jurisdiction.
11. Children's Privacy
Plantfolk is intended only for individuals who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. - Stop using Plantfolk at any time.
Please note:
- Deleting the Plantfolk application from your device does not automatically cancel your subscription.
- Subscription cancellations must be completed through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account.
Certain information may be retained where required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, technology, legal requirements, or business practices. When material changes are made, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of Plantfolk after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
